    Recently purchased this fan in a different color (distressed koa) for a bedroom. Installation was easy and the fan worked so well that we purchased a second fan in white for the office. Fans are beautiful and we get multiple compliments on them. We have 3 Minka-Aire fans in total. Remotes can be programmed on different frequencies so they do not interfere with each other. Fan blades come weighed and balanced so the fans are extremely quite even on higher speeds. LED light is bright and lights the room well. LED light is also dimmable and adjusts to your preference. Happy with the purchase. Would purchase again.

    When I first installed the fan it was quiet except on low speed where there was a slight hum. Gradually over the next month the hum grew louder and was present at all speeds. The warranty says the fan should be returned to the place of purchase, which cannot be done through Amazon after 30 days. It took a little looking back at my purchase history to finally find the actual seller. I contacted them and was told to contact Minkas technical number. After 20 minutes on hold the rep there diagnosed the trouble as a receiver and capacitor. I was sent new ones which I had to remove the fan to replace and reinstall. The hum was unchanged. Another call to Minka, who told me to contact the seller for the replacement. Did that, finally received the replacement. Assembled, installed. It is mostly quiet, but I can detect a very faint hum, which I worry will grow louder. It is in a bedroom and is only on to circulate air during the day. If it stays like it is now that will be ok, but if it gets as loud as the last one (which could be heard out in the hallway) then it will be in the landfill. I am out a bunch of time, and might be out $$. I should note, the cheap Hampton Bays and Harbor Breeze fans I have in my house from the blue and orange stores are whisper quiet, as is an ancient Hunter. Also, there is something to be said for purchasing from those stores. If you have a problem you just throw it in a box and take it back. As long as it is under warranty they will do the replacement. Finally, Google Minka fan hum.

    We love this fan. It replaced an older Minka Aire and is much prettier and moves air as well or better. The remote is better too, in that the older one had a button on the remote to make it go backwards and someone would hit it by accident from time to time. This fan has a switch on the fan body to reverse. It was easy to hang, directions were easy to understand.

    I really like the fan. It looks amazing and works well. My only problems are with the LED lighting.

    First, the light is built in and so if it dies you have to replace the entire fan. Let's hope it lasts. Secondly, I was kind of disappointed to find out you can't change the color temperature (Kelvin rating) on the light. This is a very simple thing with LED lights and is one of their great advantages over incandescent and fluorescent lighting. I have LED bulbs that cost just a few dollars each that have a simple switch on them to change the color temperature. Why can't this lamp do this? The cost would be next to nothing for Minka. I'd rather just provide my own bulb so I don't have to replace the entire lamp when the light eventually fails.

    Contrary to some other reviewers, the lamp DOES have a dimmer. Just hold down on one of the light buttons and it'll cycle thru the range of brightness. Not sure why there are two buttons. They appear to do the exact same thing.

    These are really cool looking and really move air. I had them (bought 2) professionally installed by an electrician since we we’re already having electrical work done.
    I am not overly impressed with the remote control other than it does remember the settings from when you last turned it off when you turn it on from the wall switch. I would be thrilled if it could be wired to control the light with a dimmer, and a second switch hard wired to control the fan. Would I buy them again or recommend them? Absolutely YES!
    Some reviewer have stated that the noise is an issue. Funny thing is that the one installed in bedroom 1 is completely silent except for the sound of wind movement and the on in bedroom 2 has a slight rocking noise at any speed. I’m guessing it’s a “balancing issue”. Luck of the draw I guess. I can imagine some might create a louder rocking noise which would annoy me as well.
