The French Quarter lantern is extremely well built and screams quality. All metal construction, even the candle holder trim is a heavy brass-like ring. The pewter is of a darker simmering black color rather than silver as stated in the description which is simply beautiful. Most of the cheaper lanterns are sprayed painted, the finishing on this lantern is top quality and has that ornate dark pewter finishing. Most people don't pay attention to external lighting but surprising I have received several compliments on the lantern. Price is on the steep side, but how often does one plan to change wall lanterns? This well made piece should last a long time
