The low-profile nature of Carmel offers a casual, lifestyle look to use nearly anywhere inside or outside the home.

It’s thin enough to lay in front of an outward opening door and durable enough for any space.

Wilton-woven in Turkey, this collection is 100% polypropylene, making it super durable.

Bedroom

For a bedroom, the rug should be placed under two-thirds of your bed and try to allow at least 2’ to 3’of the rug to show on each side of the bed. The rug should anchor the room’s largest piece of furniture. You can also decide if you want nightstands to be on the rug or stop before the nightstand’s front legs. If the rug is big enough, all legs of the bed should be on the rug.

Dining Room

In a dining room, the rug needs to be big enough to fit the table and chairs. Your rug should extend at least 24” past all edges of the table to avoid chairs getting caught on the edge of the rug.

Living Room

For larger living rooms, it’s best to be able to comfortably fit all your furniture on the rug. For smaller living rooms that require the furniture to be against a wall, it’s best to choose a rug large enough for at least the front legs of all of the furniture to rest on it.

August Update: I put a new one down after a few years of the old rug. For some reason this one keeps rolling up around the edges. I left it out in the rain, the sun you name it... and it got worse instead of flattening down. I had a couch on one side, so thought maybe if I turn it around and put the couch on the opposite end maybe it would stay down with some weight on it, and then the other end came up almost immediately. I still love the rug, but I had to staple it down to the deck so kids wouldn't trip over it.

I had one of these rugs outside for 3 years now in all sorts of weather. It held up wonderfully in the elements and my 'deck mates' all liked the design. Most commented that theirs doesn't wear as well outdoors while mine does. Also, their more expensive indoor/outdoor rugs faded and curled at the edges after just one summer outside.

With kids messes, wine and other stains from years of use I decided to buy a new one. However, if I were so inclined I could probably have put some effort into actually 'washing/scrubbing' the rug. It's heavy duty and probably would stand up to a good cleaning. Regardless, for the price and value I bought a new one. The last one was 'Sand' colored and really didn't fade much at all. We'll see what happens with the 4'10" x 7'6", Shells Navy one I just ordered.
I recommend, not just for price, but also for durability, designs and overall function.
It's def. more 'outdoor' feeling.. not 'plush'. Just FYI.
