I have several of these rugs. I also run a dog rescue. Puppy come, puppies go ... but they all leave puppy puddles behind ... I was about to give up on having any nice-looking rugs at all. Out of desperation, I threw one of these into the washing machine, cold cycle, figuring if it didn't last then I would just give up. Shockingly, it went through the wash (and drip dried) fabulously!! I have had them a couple years now and they have been in the washing machine half a dozen times easily. No one would know it! Highly recommended for ease of cleaning when necessary!
