Edit: Two years later (June 2016) they work great and I'd order them again. As a matter of fact, I am finishing a new room and will probably order this model again.
Original Review: These are quality pieces. Some reviews have pondered the number of finishes available on the retaining screws for the side. My order in Feb 2014 came with four finishes: brushed steel; shiny chrome; white and black. The glass shade is heavy and look like they might survive an errant thrown ball or toy from one of my small kids. We'll see.
They look good. I especially suggest these wherever you have sconce fittings that are close to each other. In one room (a small office) I have them about five feet apart on a short wall. The vertical orientation of these is perfect there, because wider lights would look odd. At the same time, I would not use these in a room with lots of space between the lights (wide placement). But it's all a matter of your taste.
Installation was the same as every other sconce, but they don't come with screws for square junction boxes. This light sconce comes with the screws required to install in a standard round light box (as it should); but square boxes that hold electrical switches and outlets take a different screw (a #6 thread at your hardware store). Either type of box is acceptable in the electrical code, but the square ones just use a different screw. Those are easy to get at the hardware store, but I share the info for those who DIY but might not have a bag of electrical stuff lying around like I do. No fun getting these ready to install and then having to drive to the store for a couple of easy-to-get screws. Again, if you use a junction box made for lights you will have nothing to get.
The light is mounted to the junction box using a single threaded rod. The rod depth is adjustable, but an extra inch of length would help install in boxes that were placed too deep behind the drywall. I had one (of eight) boxes where the rod just could not reach, so I cut some threaded rod (1/4" x 20) of my own and worked it. This is not a knock on the light, because if the box had been correctly placed there would be no issue. That said, if the manufacturer tossed an extra half-inch or so onto the length it would help in such circumstances. The only downside to this light is that the single attachment point (the threaded rod) will result in the fixture rotating unless you use a screw to hold it firm against the wall. Not a big deal, as the screw holes are there. It's just another step.
Overall a darn good light.
