Man oh man does this thing look pretty, but man oh man was it a bear to install! I'm a relatively handy guy and this thing took me some head scratching and about 5 hours to install. The instructions are fairly inadequate, especially when it comes to mounting the blades on the fan.
A few useful tips:
- parts of the fan need to be disassembled before starting assembly. Specifically, the bracket needs to be pulled out and the cosmetic brass ring that hides screws needs to be sort of popped off the top assembly.
- it took me forever to figure out how to mount the blades. The trick is that there are three plastic pieces within the blade track that need to be removed. They look like "permanent" pieces of the fan because they are so solidly screwed into place with heavy hardware, but you actually need to remove them in order to install the fan blades. The instructions do not mention this.
So, yes it's a gorgeous fan and it seems to work well, but unless you enjoy physical sudoku puzzles or are going to hire someone with basic mechanical and electrical know-how, you might go for something easier.

Love the fan, but I also came here because I couldn't make sense of attaching the fan blades. Thank goodness someone else posted that you need to remove the 3 plastic screwed in brackets. I also removed the lower plate in order to use a screwdriver. See pic and huge thanks to the other poster who saved me tons of time installing.
Nice fan, but the install needed clarification.
