I ordered the Frameless Mirror with Scalloped Edges in the Rectangle version (24" x 36"). It was purchased for a small bathroom in order to replace a huge mirror that consumed too much space. This was a B%#TC to mount. There's no template so you have to manually measure and plan out carefully. I had to measure where the 2 brackets are located on the mirror (mine were 4.5" from the vertical edge) and then on the wall, mark it up, and prayed that my measurements were accurate. Yikes, lots of opportunities for error. I also had an issue getting the D brackets to stay in place as I attempted to mount the mirror on the wall. In desperation I finally taped them flat. Another obstacle I encountered was selecting the appropriate hardware. My 1st choice was zinc anchors but the screw heads ended up being slightly too large. They fit during my pre-mounting test but when I attempted to hang it, they brackets just didn't want to go in. I finally settled on Molly Bolts and placed them slightly above the anchors. The screw heads were smaller than I preferred but I was actually able to get them in the brackets. Despite my relative confidence in the Molly Bolts, I eventually decided to use Gorilla Silicone Sealant on the wall for an extra boost of security. The one positive aspect about the mounting system is that the brackets are already in place on the back, so this at least prevents the risk of shattering the mirror if I had to install them myself. Also, the distance between the 2 vertical brackets is 15.5" so it's more likely to hit studs. (Not in my case, but best wishes for others.) I found that the mirror was light enough for me to handle on my own. If I was experienced in mirror installation I could have probably managed it solo. Since this was my first time, I needed some help. Other than than lacking installation directions, a template and mounting hardware (screws and anchors), the mirror is phenomenal. It's simply flawless in appearance. The beveled edge gives it a high-end look while the frameless style produces a modern, minimalist vibe. The feature that I like the most is the scalloped shape. It makes the outline of the mirror interesting and unexpected without being too over-the-top. Also, it's equitable cousin (AKA: A similar looking mirror) would have cost me 3x as much at Pottery Barn. I fully admit that I'm not experienced in this area, so those with more knowledge will likely not face the same challenges I had with installation. Accordingly, I'm giving this 5 Stars based upon the qualities of the actual mirror. P.S. I paired this with the Minka Lavery 3-Light Vanity fixture (ASIN: B01DV9E90I.) I absolutely ADORE the way they compliment one another! They combination has transformed the look of the room. I would buy a mirror from Howard Elliot again... But I would probably get someone else to install it. 😜
