First, this isn't silver leaf - not even close and the pic posted doesn't come close to doing this mirror justice. The base is a beige-y color resin of some kind and then the peaks of the ridges and inside/outside edges of the mirror are painted in a champagne color metallic paint. I think that comes through pretty clearly in the pic I have attached.
Second, and most importantly, this mirror is GORGEOUS! Looks very, very expensive, solid and heavy and looks perfect in my master bathroom over the sinks. The granite vanity top is a mottled mix of champagne, beige, dark brown (almost black) and cream so that might give you an idea of how the color looks. These mirrors could not be more beautiful with those colors and my brushed nickel hardware/faucets. I took a chance that another pic I saw on a different site was closer to the real color and not really silver and I am glad I did!
I should mention that they came packed to withstand an earthquake! :-) Very, very well packed and therefore quite large packages.

I am renovating a house for sale and quickly needed a powder room mirror for a narrow space. The Malia mirror coordinated well with polished nickel faucet and accessories and looked attractive on the website. The first mirror arrived well packed in an inner and outer box. One corner visible from the front had no finish in a 1 inch area. Very ugly. I ordered another one and it arrived poorly packed with no inner box. The glass was shattered and the frame broken. Also, there was a section unfinished but smaller than the first one. Very dissatisfied and I would never order Howard Elliott again. I had to pay a contractor twice to come to install with no result, the hassle of repacking and return, and the time lost. The mirror is attractive and rich looking but the lack of attention to detail make them unusable.
