I own a professional landscape lighting company. I don't install this for clients, I use really expensive brass fixtures for them but for me, this did the trick! (my wife didn't want me spending a lot)
-Install-
The stake is soft plastic so don't force it, dig a hole, put the dirt back in the hole loose then push the light in and stomp around it to compact the soil. Fixture is aluminum. The light can house the nicer led bulbs. don't use the halogen bulbs that come with it, spend $10 for a 6 pack of the led. this is a short stem with a small diffuser "hat" so this will not throw light very far. Use is for close install on a walkway not for lighting flower beds or plants. my walkway is 24in wide so I could install on one side. most people will need a fixture on both sides of the walkway. 3 adequately lit my 30ft walkway. this has a pinch vampire plug to hook it up. im not a huge fan of it but hey it works. I personally cut them off stripped the wire and used silicon filled nuts to keep it water tight. (low voltage lights don't have to be water tight but it will cause rust/oxidization eventually
conclusion - this is a nice decent light that will.....put off light! if your wanting to keep the budget low this is a great choice over plastic (garbage) would I install this at a clients house ( nice houses, they will spend 1-20k with me) no no no this wouldn't do. but I would say its a mid range fixture for a homeowner to install for themselves so its nicer than plastic but easy on the budget.
