Climate Pledge Friendly
These lights are very good quality and have a light intensity of about a 25watt bulb. Great light output such that is lights up more than 1 step that it's attached to. Only challenge is assuring the mounting holes in the step wall have enough material between the cutout and screw hole. I used outdoor double sided tape (3M Extreme) to assure the light stays attached to the step wall.
NOTE: Here is some data on the cutout opening dimensions for mounting into wood steps/walls and concrete steps/walls. The hole pattern is extremely close to the edge of the opening. So that you cannot cut the length of your opening to much or you'll not be able to use the screws for the mounting holes. Your opening cannot exceed 7-1/2" Long (go with 7-3/8" Long and chisel/file it to fit) on the width you have plenty of flexibility, the opening can be 2-1/2" to 2-3/4" wide. See the pics with the tape measure to help you better size your mounting surface.
The other option is to use this version which is a flush mount to any type box: Hinkley 1557BZ Landscape Taper, Deck Sconce, Bronze.
