The Britax Poplar™ S convertible car seat takes the stress out of moving to the next car seat stage thanks to the patented ClickTight® installation and slim SpaceSaver™ design. This convertible car seat accommodates up to 50 lbs when installed rear-facing, allowing your child to ride rear-facing longer. It easily switches to a forward-facing car seat as your child grows, accommodating up to 65 lbs. ClickTight technology provides fully open seat belt paths that are clearly labeled and easy to access, and the automatic tensioner takes care of the tightening. Super easy install, comfy car seat for toddler
This car seat is so easy to install, you just push a button to lift the seat panel, thread the seatbelt through, and close the panel. It automatically locks the belt and installation takes about 30 seconds. The padding is extra thick and comfy and it feels very well made. My 2.5 year old likes riding in his new car seat!

    We couldn’t be happier with the Britax Poplar. After struggling with other convertible car seats, this one was a breath of fresh air — the installation was incredibly simple and took just a few minutes. It clicked in rock-solid on the first try, which gave us so much peace of mind.
    The seat feels sturdy and well-built, yet it’s surprisingly compact — it fits easily in our back seat without feeling bulky, and still gives our child plenty of room. Our little one seems super comfortable in it, and we love the extended rear-facing option so we can keep them safer longer.
    It also has thoughtful details like easy-to-adjust harness straps and breathable fabric that keeps our child cool. For the quality and safety features, the price felt really reasonable too.

    We looked at a number of different seats and decided on this one for several reasons: comfortable for the child; rear-facing ride (which is the safest) up to 50 lb; super easy to install and adjust. Removable cupholders are also a plus. It's also not super heavy so it's easy enough to take with you when traveling. We ended up buying two, one for each car.

    Best and easiest to use, install, and to know your child is highly protected. This was MUCH easier to install than a previous brand used. We bought 2 of these in about a year for our 2 grandsons and followed daughter’s recommendation in buying this and she was right. It is a little pricier than the previous brand but so worth it due to the quality and far less frustration.

    It’s a really nice seat for a big baby. My son is super comfortable and loves that he can see out the window now. The straps are easy to adjust. I was able to install it quickly. It is heavy but in my opinion this is a pro for safety.
    I had previously purchased the graco slim fit and my son did not like riding in it, he looked crouched and uncomfortable. When I bought this seat it was a night and day difference.

    I am impressed at the quality of the car seat. It is definitely heavier (sturdier) so you won’t be lugging it around but it is by far the best car seat around. The shoulder pads and the buckle pad are thick. It is very easy to tighten and loosen. Baby fits in it perfectly. The install is SUPERIOR to any other car seat. I feel confident knowing that the car seat will protect baby in case anything happens. I will never buy a different brand of car seat again. I know there are a few that convert into booster seats but I don’t think it is worth sacrificing the safety that is needed when they’re younger. Booster seats are inexpensive. I’d rather purchase this one that fits and protects nicely in the first few years of life, and then later on purchase a booster. I love that baby is able to rear face longer as well. There is a level on it too so you know when you have the car seat reclined just right.

    Overall we have enjoyed the car seat. We have had it just under a month now. We wanted a car seat that could accomplish 3 things.
    1. Extended rear facing option
    2. Easy to install
    3. Easy to adjust straps
    This car seat does fulfill these options for us. It has the highest available limits for rear facing. It uses clicktight technology so you aren’t trying to pull a ton to get a tight install. It also does not require rethreading the straps to adjust the level.
    These are the pros for us.
    The biggest two cons are that the car seat is very very heavy and the fabric part is difficult to get on and off.
    1. The car seat is so heavy that it exceeds the lower anchor limits around 35lbs (check the manual for exact limit). This requires you to install with the seatbelt which is not much more difficult because of the clicktight technology but the latch system is so easy. We also were hoping to have a car seat that was easier to install so that it would be easy to switch the seat over to a different vehicle. Unfortunately because it is so so heavy, it is not convenient to do so.
    2. Our first convertible carseat only had two fabric pieces to take off when cleaning was required. They were also easy to put back on. This has several pieces and lots of little loops and parts that you have to carefully retuck the fabric. That’s fine but I was not expecting it. We had to wash the cover fairly soon after installing the car seat since our toddler had a bathroom accident.

    TLDR: We are glad to find a car seat that worked for extended rear facing and that is easy to install and use. We were surprised by how heavy it was and the time it took to put the fabric back on the seat after cleaning.

    I love this car seat! Makes it easy for older people to install it without the struggles. I would definitely buy another one. My only complaint is the strap release for the harness (to loosen it) is not obvious to new users. I feel confident that I could walk one of my adult children through installing this carseat over the phone if needed. Grandson is almost 2 years old and still fits comfortably rear facing. Fits nicely with room to spare between the driver seat and the top of the carseat on the middle row in a Honda Pilot.
