We used these to replace the original "nipple" lights that were installed all over the home. We did not want to have to touch up the ceiling paint where the originals were removed, so we opted for these wide, shallow lights. They look fantastic--as another reviewer noted, they were a bit of a pain to install, but I think that's the case for all ceiling lights. Totally modernized the space--ordered 10 or so and placed them in the hallways, laundry room and walk in closets.
