I had the light installed with the semi-flush mount however, the rods provided give flexibility if you want more of a drop or want to use as a pendant light. It was easy to install. The metal ring on the base of the shade just slips into place so not struggle to get it on the shade. The bronze color matches other fixtures in my kitchen and dining area which is why I chose it. I also like that the shade is clear glass to provide even more light in my small kitchen as there is only a patio door as a natural light source going into my kitchen. The light arrived quickly and was well packaged.
