We recommend leaving approximately 30"- 36" between the bottom of your fixture and the surface of your dining table. The width of your fixture should be at least 6" narrower than the width of your table.

    Looks elegant and is easily assembled. Fits on a standard 3" pole and takes candelabra bulbs. Others have complained about the three brass screws used to fasten the light to the post - a situation that can be addressed by first driving a #6 steel woodscrew into the drilled holes, in order to "tap them" for the weaker brass screws - an old cabinetmakers trick. I'd note that there are 3 holes drilled through the base plate of the lantern in order to provide some ventilation and flush out moisture. To keep out insects, I attached 3 small pieces of nylon window screening over the underside of the holes, using a thin layer of silicone sealant. Can't comment on durability yet since it's only been up one week!

    2016- Beautiful light. Looks well made. The black brass set screws provided broke with very little pressure even when drilling the whole same size as screw.
    2025-This lasted 9 years in Florida. Last year Hurricanes Helene and Milton soaked everything in salt water spray. That made this light needing a total rebuild. Rather than do that, I ordered the same light again and raised to five stars for durability. See the video.

    The seller is good to deal with - I returned and repurchased another color -they were reasonable to transaction with . However, the quality of the light is only medicore. The parts are tin light- thin - light weight - the only weight is in the glass. As far as appearance- it very good - but if you are looking for high quality - look at more expensive lanterns. This is all I wanted to pay for a replacement to my original light fixture ,but the installer pointed out the quality of the metal parts.
