These are truly beautiful lamps. Recently, I purchased a couch that was a dark chocolate color. I would have preferred lighter, but it wasn't available and the couch had features I couldn't find in any other one. My floor is light beige. In order to lighten the couch, I put teal throw pillows on it. Of course, after I did that, my lamps didn't match (does this sound like an old vaudeville routine where I wind up replacing everything in the room?). I checked online and found these lamps on another website. I never buy anything elsewhere without checking on Amazon first. The price was the same and Amazon is my preferred vendor. Fortunately for me, there were two in the warehouse that were reduced in price, but I would have bought them full price and would have been more than happy. The only problem I found was that the lampshade is a beautiful beige, but it is a beautiful beige suede which blocks a lot of light. The good news is that it takes 100 watt bulbs. I had to go through a couple of different bulbs to get the right color light, but it was worth it. The natural slate in these lamps pick up the teal of the throw pillows and the beige off the floor and seem to lighten the couch area because of it. The copper adds a beautiful warmth to the whole thing. There is a glass bell type of bulb cover on which the shade sits that is another beautiful touch. I really love these lamps more than I thought I would.
Update: Still loving the lamps, but the suede shade really does dim the lights, even with a 100W bulb. I'm going to go to an energy efficient type of bulb that uses as close to the 100W as I can get, but has the lumens much higher. Keeping my fingers crossed.
