If you are looking for a table that is super sturdy then you need to keep looking. I had some pretty specific requirements for the space I needed this table for:
*small
*specific height
*old gold/bronze color
*minimal profile--so you can look beyond it to the fireplace
*sturdy on carpet so it needed to have "feet"
This table was perfect EXCEPT for the sturdiness. It is especially bad on carpet, but I just put it on my hardwood floors to test its sturdiness on a flat surface and it will tip over. Because it has 3 legs, it is prone to tipping if you put anything on an edge that is between the legs.
My cat jumped on this table and got a surprise when it went over. Since it is metal, if it hits something when it falls over, you are going to have some damage.
I sat with a friend in the seats by this table and we put our drinks on it. It is new carpet. I was not able to relax.
The table top is a little bit of a disappointment for the price. I don't expect a uniform distressed look (kind of defeats the purpose of distressed if it is uniform). But perfectly smooth in spots looks like a manufacturing mistake.
I went back and forth on 3 or 4 stars. I looked long and hard to find a table I liked with my requirements. The fact that this was the only table I LIKED that seemed like it would work in my space moved it up to a 4 star.
It is a nice table to look at if you don't mind the smooth spots on top. It is not a useful table. Since we don't use it a lot I am happy with my purchase.
