For many years, we had a Halophane light fixture over our kitchen table. It lit the table well, but had a glare that was a bit uncomfortable. We remodeled and removed the Halophane fixture to depend on a recessed light in the ceiling. Well...that worked, but lacked warmth. We took a chance to buy this Uttermost fixture on line, and we are very pleased.
The installation into the existing recessed fixture was very simple: an Edison-base connector screws into the existing recessed socket. A simple ceiling medallion covers our slightly oversized recessed opening. Over a few days, the plastic covered power cord straightens and removes any small bends.
The interior of the fixture has a lovely shell pattern that we all find very pleasant. All-in-all, this fixture was a great value and a great addition to our home.
