I purchased two of these fans after searching for a fan that was high powered enough for good airflow and energy efficient. The fans came in the original factory boxes and I hired a handyman to put one in a low-ceiling basement bedroom and another in a normal 9ft ceiling bedroom. It only took about 15-20 minutes each, but he was a professional. The blades are two sided and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were coated with Hunter's special "Dust-Armor/nanotechnology" coating that reduces dust build up, which is great for an allergy and asthma sufferer like me. The dark wood side finish of the blades are very nice and the light oak-ish wood side look a little cheap. The light fixture is nicer and much whiter,with more detailing on the bowl, than the picture shows.One special 24 watt CFL bulb (GU24 base/100 watt light equivalent), is included and produces a lot of bright white,almost florescent looking light, (which can be good or bad depending on what your need for light is). The motor is truly a nice "WhisperWind" and has a good swivel arm joint to keep it moving and not grinding like other brands do.
Overall a very quiet fan that cools and circulates well. I plan on buying 3 more to replace existing fans, so my whole house coordinates. I think they look much more expensive than $100 fans, especially compared to the $200-250 fans at the big box stores I had just been looking at that weren't even "Energy Star" compliant or had the same CFM's .
