We purchased the 60" model that is identical to this. Some precautions to consider...
1. You cannot bypass the transmitter used for the remote. We were going to just use the wall switch to control speeds because we have kids who specialize in losing remotes. However, the system will not work when you bypass the transmitter. the transmitter is 100% necessary.
2. We bought an 18" downrod to extend lower from a vaulted ceiling. The cable that comes with the fan was not long enough and Hunter does not sell extension kits. We cut the cable and spliced in wire to make it long enough. But be warned, even a 6" downrod may be too long for the wiring that comes with the fan. IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE/CONFIDENT WITH THAT LEVEL OF ELECTRICAL WORK, DON'T INSTALL ON YOUR OWN.
