While expensive compared to other options (even from Hunter), this unit is solid, well made and with the oil bathed gearing is very quiet. We bought a second one for the bedroom replacing the original "contractor specials" that were loud and annoying.
The unit is very heavy so ensure the mounting box you are attaching to is installed properly to handle the weight. We opted to have a licensed electrician remove the old fans and install these so all the details would be accounted for.
This unit does NOT come with a remote control but you can purchase an add on but be aware that the trim piece above the fan is limited in the size to house the RF unit typically placed there; make sure the model you select will fit or choose on that only goes in the switch on the wall.
One small item is the pull chain does not come with a "fandangle" on the end so Hunter sent us one (was supposed to be two but that got mixed up)
but you can go to the hardware store and get "cute ones" if needed...).
