This lighting fixture offers a modern style which, from the picture, may appear a little stark. The picture slightly underestimates how beautiful this light really displays. Once installed the look is softened, partially due to the interior crystals and even more so once the light is on and casting a beautiful lighting pattern on the ceiling and walls. We installed the fixture in the dining room, which is a relatively small area. The light reaches across the entire ceiling and reaches the upper third of the surrounding walls, It is soft light and not overly bright. The quality is evident as it is sturdy, well constructed, components are aligned and well-fitting, and the crystals are of superior, albeit not Swarovski. Aesthetically, if this is what you are looking for, I would definitely recommend this fixture. We also bought it off Amazon at a sale price of $100 less than retail, which always makes a purchase even that much sweeter.
