Got this about half a year ago, and installed it myself, and it works very well. It's not overwhelmingly bright, and it could even be brighter in my opinion, but then again, I've installed it in a giant room (floor to ceiling over 10 ft) and it is the only light in that space (appx 900 sq. foot room). I can see it being the perfect brightness for smaller rooms with lower ceilings. I like the energy saving feature in which the light starts out dim and gets brighter.
This is a good light, and I have had no problems with it so far.
