I bought the light to match the Maxim wall lamps that I have (which I really like). First of all the outer glass section would not fit through the holes in the inner piece, and since nothing is adjustable I had to drill bigger holes to get it to fit. And then the inner piece (which is cast) had two tabs which tilted upward that kept the assembly from fitting tightly on the base. Again, it's cast so there is little bending that could be done. I bent one slightly and the other broke, and eventually I got it to fit, but not snuggly so I had to caulk the bottom of the outer glass. A nightmare. A 10 minute job turned into two hours with a not-so-perfect assembly. Continuing, when the bulb burns out I will have to again remove the entire top in order to replace it, and it is so tough to keep the glass sections from banging on each other. The glass didn't break during assembly but but I cringed many times when I thought it might have. Good luck if you read this and make the purchase anyway!
