    Quite beautiful - these really make our home stand out. The size is perfect with a standard two car garage with a lamp on each side. The color is a lovely mottled rust brown, and it really looks nice against tan stucco. Super easy to install -and not so heavy that it takes more than one person to do.     These beautiful fixtures are compliant with my community's (Sanibel Island's) Dark Skies ordinance.

    Update: Now that I've had these light fixtures for eight years, I can report that the finish on them has degraded and the exposed aluminum metal is significantly corroded, even for the lights that were not exposed to rain or direct sunlight. Still, for the price I paid ($70 each), eight years is about all I can expect something to last in this harsh southwest Florida coastal environment.

    I bought this light because I liked the bigger version of it and needed a few smaller ones too.

    Pros: good value, doesn't have glass to clean, the "cage" makes an interesting shadow pattern, it's "dark sky".

    Cons: smaller than specified, e.g. height is actually 16.5", not 17.75" -- makes a noticeable difference in its overall volume. Also, the light bulb sits up near the metal dome so it doesn't shine at the sky, but unless you're very tall or the lantern is positioned very low, you'll see glare from the bulb.

    I ended up moving the light socket from its side-mounted position to the top of the dome, so it's pointed down, and using a small spot light (GE Lighting 25776 Soft White Indoor Spotlight R14 Bulb, 40-Watt) to help with the glare. The bulb was still too noticeable so I put a metal sleeve around it and the socket, which doesn't affect the light pattern and hides the bulb unless you're right underneath it. I made the sleeve from a 3" diameter can, painted the same color as the lantern. It worked out in the end, but I don't think I'd do it again if I knew what I was getting into.
