Attractive, Sturdy Outdoor Fixture at a Great Price
The Designers Fountain Waterbury outdoor wall lantern turned out to be an excellent upgrade for my porch lighting. The cast aluminum body feels solid, and the white finish looks clean and classic without being overly flashy. I especially like the clear glass panes, which let a lot of light through compared to frosted glass—perfect for brightening an entryway or garage area.
Installation was straightforward with the included hardware, and the fixture fit easily on the standard mounting box. It takes a regular medium-base bulb (up to 100W), so you can use LED, incandescent, or even a dusk-to-dawn sensor bulb if you want automatic operation. Once mounted, it felt secure, and the beveled glass adds a touch of polish you don’t usually find at this price point.
Weather resistance is another plus. Mine has held up through sun, wind, and coastal humidity without showing rust or discoloration. The seal keeps moisture out, and cleaning is just a matter of wiping the glass now and then.
If I had to nitpick, the glass panels aren’t locked in as tightly as on higher-end fixtures, so they can shift a little during installation. Also, there’s no built-in motion sensor or photocell—so if you want automatic on/off, you’ll need to add a smart bulb or separate sensor.
Bottom line: For under $25, this lantern is a stylish, durable, and easy-to-install choice that looks more expensive than it is. A simple way to boost curb appeal and improve nighttime visibility.
