    In the past we have bought cushioned seats and they just simply break. Making your visit to the bathroom rather uncomfortable. The cushion in this seat is very thick and comfortable. The base of the seat is made from wood instead of plastic so it doesn't break. The seat has lasted us for at least a year which is much longer than the seats we have purchased in the past.

Beware that most soft toilet seats have a plastic or cardboard core that quickly break and seams split within a week. However, this comfort seat has a wood core and is sturdy and strong.     This is a third or fourth soft seat I’ve had and they aren’t even lasting more than six months most of the time. The top of the seat that you sit on turns blue after a while almost like an oxidation and of course it doesn’t come off. So I’m considering going back to hard seats rather than having to replace mine so often.

    I bought this seat last March based on the reviews. I was mainly looking for a well constructed padded toilet seat that stays in place. And this one does seem well constructed, and it does stay put. Also, mine has not torn as others have mentioned, so that's good too. But, all of the plastic pieces that are located on the bottom of the seat that raise the seat up off of the toilet rim have crushed. There are only two of us in the house, and we are not very heavy people. I was even fine with the crushed plastic, but just recently, in the last month or so, the white has started to fade to yellow all over both the seat and the top. I have tried all different ways of trying to get it back to white - I even tried bleach, but nothing works. It must just be the material, and it doesn't look good now, so I will purchase a different brand now. Hopefully that one does better!

    I was really looking forward to using this soft seat. And we did, for about 3 weeks. I didn't like it at all as the seam that hold the plastic together on the seat was right on the inside rim of the seat so you felt it every time you sat down. I am average weight and height. My husband also complained that it wasn't comfortable and he is average weight and 6 ft tall. We've never met a soft seat we didn't like until this one. We are saving it as an emergency seat and ordered a wooden easy close. We are thrilled with it.
