Poor quality, disappointing product
We installed this seat on February 26th and thought this was a good product. However, the seat had cracked on both sides by May 6th. Also, the hinges that held the lid on have stripped out of the composite wood and the lid is now ready to fall off. I have bought wood toilet seats for many years however this is the poorest quality that has entered our home. Buy this seat if you wish to have it fall apart in 2 months time.

Do not buy this product and strongly recommend you avoid anything of a similar type.

    Not as good a quality as I expected. Came with a small chip in the wood but decided not to return it as chip not very visible. THIS IS AN UPDATE TO MY EARLIER REVIEW - When I first received it I could see the wood was darker in color that the online photo. Not too much of a big deal so I let that go. Then as a mentioned in the earlier review the chip in the wood was under the seat, again not so much a big deal as you only noticed it when the seat was up. Later, I noticed the screws holding the hinges were loose causing the seat to shift on the toilet so I tightened them up and that made it OK for a while. Now I'm noticing they are loose again and small bits of woos material are coming out, and obviously the screws are not able to stay in the wood. This is not recommended to anyone looking for a good toilet seat.

    The wood is beautiful, but a toilet seat must be sturdy. From the very beginning, the seat did not sit centered on the bowl. (It was installed by a professional builder, so this was not an amateur job). Eventually it started coming loose and slipping. This was due to poor construction of the metal fitting that connects the seat to the lid and the bowl, and not because of failure to tighten the screws to the bowl. I got a Phillips screwdriver and tried to tighten one of the screws attached to the cover, and the screw just turned and turned, indicating that the threading was stripped.

    Now I will have to buy and install another toilet seat, which defeats the entire purpose of ordering online (to save time). I will not pack up and return a toilet seat - sorry. I am just writing this off as a loss and chalk it up to a lesson learned.

    This is not a quality product and is nothing like the picture they show. Shown is Golden Oak, what I got was poop brown, doesn't come close to matching the picture.
    The product is MDF and looks like paint, not veneer.
    When you sit, you can feel the seat flex and feels like it might crack. Hinges, no matter how tight you get the mounting nylon bolts it is still loose. Not the mount but the hinges.
    Like others, my seat arrived with dents in the MDF
    I am requesting to return the item, and may purchase the real wood one or make my own out of real wood.
    Would not recommend, would not re-purchase. WILL NOT keep long term for use.
    Spend the $$ and get the REAL WOOD seat, you will be happier.
