We love these light fixtures!
We're updating our 70's condo, turning it into a rental. We had the popcorn ceilings professionally removed and freshened the place up with modern colors and finishes.
We purchased four of these George Kovacs lights to replace the huge prehistoric ceiling fixtures in the kitchen, common area, and a walk-in closet.
Side note: Purchased 3 Casablanca Wisp fans in Pewter for the living room and 2 bedrooms. The lights and fans are in different rooms, but you can see them from one another. The style and colors go very well together.
These light fixtures provide a very understated or minimalist look. They also work well if you want recessed lighting but don't have the ceiling structure to support that. The look is very similar. Our ceiling is a 6-inch thick concrete slab with no space to recessed lights. Also, we had knocked down non-structural wall to open up the space and thus the light sockets are in random places. The ceiling doesn't lend itself to moving light structures unless we drop the ceiling...not wanted in such a small place. We wanted light fixtures to be as non-intrusive as possible to detract from the odd placement. These are perfect!
By the way, we were debating between the 6-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch lights. The original fixtures we were replacing were at least 10 inches in diameter. We asked a few of our stylish friends for their recommendations, and all of them recommended the 6-inch lights. Of course, you'll need to decide which level of brightness you need, but 3 of these in a small kitchen/open space and one in a walk-in closet provide more than enough light!
