      Good light and strong lamp. The problem is the location of the on/off/brightness controls. It is on the lower rise support so it cannot be used if the lamp is not immediately adjacent to the user; it forces the user to stand up and lean over to use the controls. Poorly planned.

      Soooo happy with my lamp. I've been shopping for months, and have viewed hundreds of lamps. I found one similar to this, but more expensive, in a wood finish, and with a torch lamp built in. But what I wanted was a brushed or anodized aluminum finish, and just the reading lamp. Eventually, that model became available. It's three brightness settings are fine for mood lighting, medium reading, or very bright. It can be pointed to the ceiling to use as a torch lamp, or toward a piece of art to highlight a wall. It appears to be very well constructed, and holds whatever position you place it in. And the price is competitive. Two screws to install, and the wrench to screw with is included. If you love modern, clean lines, this one will do the trick.
