My wife found the fixture on the manufactures web site and loved the look so I found it on Amazon and made the purchase. I really wish I had read the reviews before purchasing and having them installed on our new patio trellis. They look nice but are way to shallow. A standard bulb hangs way below the bottom which somewhat defeats the night sky “feature”. Even with the smallest A26 bulb I could find as someone suggested in another review, it is visible when looking from the side. The picture of the fixture was taken about 15’ feet away and the bottom of the bulb is visible. At night when the light is on, that’s all you notice. It is the smaller of the two bulbs shown in the second picture, the larger is a standard size A26 bulb. They look nice but are super lightweight because the material is so thin. A bit expensive for what you get in my opinion. We will eventually replace once we have time and find one my wife likes that is deep enough to hide the bulb.

It's been clearly documented in the reviews that you should USE THE BULB THEY RECOMMEND. It is smaller, doesn't protrude below the fixture, and puts out plenty of light.

    I have owned 7 of these fixtures over 8 years now and I will now have to change them out (I am repainting the whole house) because rust is present, to some degree or other, on all 7 of them. This house in near the ocean though and gets a lot of moisture.

    But I still love how the dark sky look accents the house and puts the light where belongs.

    I have to also note the kind of bulb is also very important. I used the PAR20 Dimmable LED Bulb, 7W Flood Light Bulbs. The bulb itself is small & directs the light downward. It's important that the bulb doesn't protrude.

    Anyway, I am purchasing them again to replace the existing ones but this time I will spray them with a clear UV spray before installing.

    Purchased 2 of these in the bronzed finish to replace lights beside the garage doors. Needed to get something that was 'dark sky' compliant. These suited our house style and were easy to install. They look nice. They've only been up a day so we don't know how well they will hold up, but other than replacing lightbulbs, there shouldn't be anything that can go wrong. One plus, is that it is really easy to change the light bulbs since there is no globe or enclosure that restricts access to the bulb. Because the shade part of the fixture is rather shallow, we are using the recommended A15 size bulbs that are also suitable for outdoor use. They are a little smaller than standard bulbs so they don't extend down as far.

However, it's very shallow and wide and in my attached pic the light bulb in it is a smallish bulb, not a large one. You can imagine that at night when it's on all you see is a bare light bulb hanging there. In addition, the beauty of the fixture isn't really visible even in the day because you can't see it from above, only from below. I think if the design were modified so it was deeper and encompassed the size of a light bulb it would be a better choice. But as you approach the door at night your main view is an exposed light bulb. I don't mean to be overly critical - as I said when I opened the package I was very pleased with the design - but for me it's not very pleasing as an installed fixture.

    I bought 8 of these lights for a rustic, yet modern house in the mountains. They'd work well in many styles; Craftsman, Modern Farmhouse, Farmhouse, Coastal, etc. They are incredibly lightweight, which I thought wasn't a good thing, but my electrician and contractor thought it was great. I have four on my front porch with LED Edison bulbs (they are key to making the style great), and guests always comment on how nice - or cool - the fixtures are. The hammered finish is noticeable, but not overdone. Highly recommended, but do consider the Edison bulbs too!
