Beautiful Light, Major LED Flaw, and a DIY Fix

The Good:
We recently built a new home and installed around 14 of these Minka Lavery Baytree Lane fixtures. Aesthetically, they are 5-star. They look fantastic and perfectly fit for the design of our house.
The Bad: Poor LED Longevity
The biggest issue with these lights, as many other reviewers have noted, is the extremely poor lifespan of the integrated LED module. The manufacturer's claims about longevity are highly misleading. We had our first unit fail in just under 2 years with moderate, normal use.
With so many of these expensive fixtures around our home, replacing the entire unit every time an LED fails is simply not a financially viable or sustainable option.
How to Fix It: A DIY Guide to Replacing the LED Module
After one of my units failed, I took it apart and found that you can replace just the internal LED module. It's a very doable project if you are a bit handy, and it's much cheaper than buying a whole new fixture.
Here are the steps and the exact part you need:
Replacement Part:
Module Number: Paragon H48185AC
Full Part Name: COB Paragon LED Module Light 120V 14W 1200Lm 2700K(Soft White), CBAC-042-36185-120-2700 G17 with H48185AC LED
You can find this part by searching online. It's not cheap, but it's far better than the $$$$ for a new fixture.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Remove Glass Diffuser: The glass diffuser where the light emits from needs to be removed first. Gently twist it about a 1/4 turn, and it should pop right out.
Remove Lens Assembly: You will see two brass screws. Back these out, and remove them. This will loosen the entire glass lens and its holder from the main housing. (Be sure to keep these parts).
Access the Module: You should now be looking directly at the failed LED module.
Free the Module: The module is held in place by some adhesive thermal padding. Gently (but firmly) wiggle the module side-to-side. It will eventually break free from the adhesive.
Disconnect Wires: Gently pull the module out, and you will see a 2-wire connector. It's a simple push-pin connector. Disconnect it, and the old module is free.
Re-assembly: Connect your new module and slide it back into place. CRITICAL STEP: Make sure you use the new thermal pad between the new module and the metal housing. This is essential for heat dissipation and will help your new module last longer.
Put everything back together in reverse order.
Bottom Line:
I love the look, but I can't recommend this light due to the faulty LED module. If you already own them and they are failing, I hope this DIY guide helps you save some money.
