These fixtures are well-made, easy to install, use standard screw-in bulbs and can be installed pointing either up or down.
We made the mistake of originally buying ones that were supposed to only be installed with the open side of the shades pointed up in order to keep the expensive pressure-fit bulbs they required from falling out. (The info we had when we ordered them didn't say there was only one way to orient them so if that's important to you, ask!) We needed them pointed down and there was no way to get that to work with those first ones.
These are simple, elegant and the frosted shades distribute the light evenly vs. the ones with clear shades that really glare.
