    It works great mounted in a horz position. We are using it in a small bathroom. The actual light is slightly smaller than what it looks like in the pic, but that worked out well for us. Standard CFL bulbs fit in it with no problems. Well made for the price.

    This fixture arrives exactly as advertised. We installed a pair on either side of a vanity mirror. They're perfect. We used 14w CFL's and the brightness is outstanding. The CFL's are the mini variants so they fit easily within the shades. The glass shades twist and lock into the housing -- be sure to check it's locked before you take your hand of the bottom shade. I'd recommend these to a friend without question.

    Really, really pretty fixtures.that throw off great light with 60 watt tubular bulbs. (I also have them on a dimmer). These Minkas are similar in design to a comparable Kovacs fixture, but these frosted glass shades are shorter - which is exactly why I purchased them.

    These are very nice sconces. We installed them in our bathroom horizontally- not vertically as shown with no problems.

    The only think about these that we wish were different, is that there isn't an enclosure or "lid" to the light tube, so in the horizontal position the light bulb shows.
