Unfortunately I had the same problem another reviewer mentioned. The sandpaper like finish on the glass shades was either unevenly applied or it started wearing off in transit. Would be fine if it wasn't splotchy. I'm keeping them because I have an electrician scheduled to install - hoping I don't notice it much. If I do I may try to get replacement shades that aren't like that.
