I have used and kept this double backed tape in my home for years now. I find it to be the very best hardware for mounting a variety of things on the walls of my kitchen, bathroom, or just about anywhere. I have a collection of small flow blue plates that are mounted with this tape under the crown molding on my kitchen walls. In addition to having a very hard time finding those metal plate holders in a small size, they also interfere with the looks of the plate. And of course they have to be held in place by a nail or screw on the wall. Its been years since I have mounted all these plates with this tape and they have never fallen or budged. I can see the whole plate and I clean them right on the wall and they never loosen. Though Amazon carries a variety of other double backed tape, this style with the green plaid backing is the only brand easily found locally here. The backing peels off, and the tape itself is like a thin foam rather than tape. I buy a thicker (3/4") variety here locally than this particular one. (I was not able to find the wider version on Amazon. It's a better deal than this thinner version since you have more discretion over the size you need). This tape is extremely strong and sticky and can hold just about anything reasonable that you would expect of it. It tears as easily as duct tape and you can mount whatever project you have in mind with no nails,screws or tools. I am never without it in the house...
In conclusion, though it can be a little difficult to remove from a wall or fixture should you decide to take down or move whatever it you used it on, at least you are not left with a hole in your wall. Scrape it gently and it comes off, and all you are left with is a blemish that can be either painted over or just scrubbed clean in many cases. I truly love this stuff and find a variety of uses for it. I highly recommend it...
