    These trac lighting units are near impossible to find at local lighting stores. Found them at Amazon at a really good price. We installed the wire under our cabinets and these have a couple prongs which simply pierce the wires outer insulation. Think vampire. You can place them anywhere along the wire, just push them in and add the two bulbs. We have found them great when we need that extra bit of light while doing tasks under the cabinets. Or just to use for a softer light when we don't want brighter overhead lights on.

    The 20 year old sockets were brittle, melting, and disintegrating, probably from using bulbs that burned too hot. The replacements push into the old wiring track wire, just like the pre existing sockets. Use type 168.T3 5 watt bulbs. A little hard pushing into the track wiring, but doable. If these look like the ones you want to replace, order them.

    Our Xenon under cabinet lighting system is 22 years old and Xenon lamps run HOT. The lamp holders are stamped with "Warning - Risk of Fire". After many years some of the plastic has become brittle and it can break easily. These are the OE replacement pieces. I am updating our Xenon lighting with LeMeng 15 watt AC / DC T10 wedge base LED bulbs which are brighter and are cool to the touch. They plug into the sockets but the LED bulbs are longer so you may have to relocate a lamp holder further from the edge of the cabinet to accomodate the extra bulb length. In doing so you may break an old one. I did. The packaging says the brand is Generation Lighting, but I believe they bought out Sea Gull. The part is identical and it works well.

    Two bad bulbs. Contact on one socket broke off. Reflector shields on every socket were on backwards so they wouldn’t seat right. They would hit the bottom of the cabinet and wouldn’t fit into track. Had to redo all 24 shields. Had to use old parts from previous install to get the job done. Very disappointed!!!
