We searched all over for some good sized solid brass coach lights to replace the aging ones we have had on the front of the house for 30 years or more. I actually returned a set of different ones because they were not as tall as advertised. These also have a durable clear coating so they won't tarnish or corode. I mounted these with new 5 watt CFL Candelabra bulbs and they look just great. These things alone make our home look nearly new.

I have been using Sea Gull, and other brand, polished brass w/ beveled glass lights on my home for the last 25 years and have 13 of them installed. I really like the looks and they complement our house styling. However, I replace these lights every several years because they tend to corrode within 2-3 years (all brands). This may be something that could be avoided if I would do some periodic maintenance such as clean and wax them from time to time. I have not done this because to do it correctly, the light would have to be removed to be able to get to all surfaces. But now I am installing three new lights and as an experiment will be disassembling the lights and spraying the metal parts with a Rustoleum clear coat. I will also try to “clean up” and polish one of the old lights. But if the brass plating is thin, this may not work.

Garbage - Do Not Buy. I bought two of these and put them up under my covered front porch. After 5 months, the finish on these items are horrible. They had a nice brass finish when installed which has now flaked off in places leaving a black scale behind. There is obviously something wrong with the finish on these. I am not going to post pictures here but if the seller would like to see pictures of the problem, they can contact me. I very much doubt I will hear from anyone. **Update 01/13/2025** - The seller still has not reached out to me. So I called them and they do not even answer. Amazon was kind enough to offer a PARTIAL refund (they want to charge me a Restocking Fee for these items that are now Junk - can you believe?) when I explained the problem further to them. It is not worth it to me to take them down and have to find something else to replace them. Apparently Amazon cannot reach the seller either. What about the warranty on these items? Seems like the responsibility of the seller. Please know I hardly ever give a negative review, but for this time it is well warranted.
