We self-installed this light set into our bathroom there the old 80’s bar of globe lights was hanging with its ugly oak backing. The installation was fairly straightforward, but the round mounting plate that came with it... lines up exactly with our round electrical box. The bolts that hold the light fixture to the plate overlap so you can’t use it on our particular electrical box mount. We had to go buy some extra mounting plates and screws to make it work. But- the have the house to reno from hell, so it doesn’t shock us that a standard would fit anyone’s house but ours set up doesn’t work for our house. Seriously- not one project in this house goes without a retro fit of some kind. Anyway- not this lighting unit’s fault. Just our house. The only part you may have difficulty with is that those beautiful sconces are narrow. My husband’s hand doesn’t fit into them to set up the bottom brackets that hold the sconce onto the base. My slender ones did. It comes with a nifty tightening cap for the sconce bolts. Looks like a giant wire nut, but it’s not! Don’t throw it out, you will need it. And I LOVE that it comes with 4 LED light bulbs. They are more on the white side than the yellow, but not ugly fluorescent. I would recommend it for any bathroom or similar area. Great lighting, very bright. I focused on the lights to take the photo (so you could see what they look like) so, don’t presume that’s all the brighter they get. These really light up the small half bath we have in the hallway.

    This Alturas Four Light Wall/Bath Sconce Light in Brushed Nickel from Sea Gull Lighting is very attractive and well built.

    It arrives in a large, cardboard shipping box with plenty of styrofoam packing. Mine was is perfect condition. The fixture is well made with no visible welds and a beautiful, brushed finish. The glass shades are round and measure about 6" tall and 3 1/2" in diameter. The fixture measures 30 1/2" wide for the 4 sconce version.

    The included instructions for mounting are good and if you have ever installed a light fixture, you will have no problem installing this one.

    Note that this is an LED light fixture. There are 4 LED bulbs included and this fixture is rated for 9.5W bulbs max. That means that you should not use incandescent or other bulbs that exceed this wattage. I have switched to all LED bulbs in my home because they are so energy efficient so I have no problem with this but it's important to note. The included bulbs produce the equivalent of a 60W incandescent bulb x4 so it gives off plenty of light and are 3000K so a soft, white light. I like closer to 5000K for the bathroom (for make up application) so I will probably replace the ones that came with the fixture but that's just a personal choice.

    This is a very attractive fixture. You can mount it with the shade pointing up or down, depending upon how you like your lighting. Pointing down makes it easier to change bulbs although with LED bulbs, you don't need to change them often, but it also prevents bugs from collecting in the bottom of the shade. My only disappointment is that the fixture is curved where the light sconces sit. I would have preferred it to be more square as I have an old home but it's still very nice. The white shades diffuse the light nicely. It really is a lovely fixture.

    This is a super pretty bathroom light fixture! I do prefer though that there be bright lighting in my bathroom for putting on makeup or dealing with splinters or injuries, so I tend to put very bright bulbs in there. The white glass in the fixtures' sconces, however, diffuse the light which makes its softer and evens out the lighting a bit. If you like that, you'll love this fixture. I overcame the issue with using stronger halogen bulbs, so my bathroom is plenty bright with this beautiful fixture.

    This is a welcomed addition to our master bath. The brushed nickel works well with our existing hardware. It has a nice weight to it, and doesn't feel or look cheap. The white, etched shades diffuse the light nicely. Four bulbs are included with this fixture which provide a very cool-toned light. I plan on swapping our the bulbs as I prefer warmer-tones.

    The fixture can be mounted with the lights facing upward or downward; we have them facing upward as that worked best with our current set up. The directions were very straightforward, and my husband had this installed within 20 minutes.

    We hung ours pointing up, and the light bouncing off the ceiling makes the bathroom way brighter than the old down-pointing sconce we had, despite these being more frosted. Installation took me under an hour, and that includes paint touchup (old mount covered more wall).
    I really like the slight curve to the layout, a lot of these units tend to simply be lights in a line.

    Well made and very high quality of finish.
    We do ALOT of bath installs and see tons of lights about 50 a year and this unit is solid, wired well (no crap crimping) and most important has a very high finish on the metal surfaces which in most baths is really important for long term durability.
    I knocked off 1 star (would have done a 1/2 star if I could) for a little flaking coming from the frosted glass...was fine once we hand washed but on a new product we should not have to...
    lastly the packaging protected it but know it will make a mess of your space when unpacking so do it outside

    This is a big, bold wall lighting unit to be placed above a sink, so you can see yourself while shaving or plucking eyebrows. It has got a lot of use since I put it up. As an older man, I need the extra light to trim ear and nose hairs, as well as make sure I have shaven my face evenly. I use it every day. A wonderful and useful product to have and to keep. 5 Stars!
